" THE CONVERSE SNEAKER"
The Converse story is quite interesting. As stated by Converse.com
under Our Story, "Converse began in 1908 as a rubber shoe company specializing in galoshes. Soon after, we started using our rubber to make sneakers. In 1920, we renamed our canvas basketball sneaker the “All Star.” The name stuck."

The article also explains that soon after that the shoe was intended for playing basketball. The converse was used for that reason, but have evolved into something even more than a basketball shoe.
Like the Timberland, and the Denim Jacket the shoe has been embraced by all types of people with immensely different styles. Men, Women, Children, the young, and the older have come to make The Converse fit their style, and needs.
The Converse is worn by the athlete, the skater, the rocker, the hipster, the cool, and the uncool.
The "ALL STAR" now has become a canvas for art, your individuality, for making them your own style.
In Converse.com's own words, "You played music, made art, skated the streets and kicked back. You wore them as fashion. You wore them to work. You customized them with your personal style. You did everything to them, and in them. You saw our sneakers’ unlimited potential. To this day, this spirit continues with all of our sneakers and apparel for All Star, Cons and Jack Purcell. As soon as you put them on and start doing your thing, their true life begins. You define them. You determine their journey. They become a one-of-a-kind celebration of your individuality and self-expression. They become a part of you. They’re Made by you."

Converse has partnered with The Institute of Contemporary Art and Artists for Humanity, plus the Boys and Girls Club of Boston. I admire companies that use their clout, well known name, and quality product to support and inspire the young, the less fortunate, and the artist {of course}. The artist lives in all of us... in our style, how we see the beauty, and using an unconventional palette. Art allows us to see things differently, and embrace the beauty of difference. An impact that Converse embraces, and hopefully more companies will follow in their "ALL STAR" footsteps.
Converse "ALL STAR" is now another ICONIC piece of Fashion that I strongly urge to be on your staple wardrobe list, and is already a classic must have.
As always...."Express your style, and always do you"!!!
